IN MEMORY OF EMILY BARBER
Emily Barber was known for her joyful spirit, compassionate heart, and genuine love for helping others. Following her tragic accidental overdose at age 29, her family chose to transform unimaginable loss into a movement of hope, healing, and prevention.
Community Advancing Light & Life (CALL), exists to honor the life of Emily, by helping prevent and reduce substance misuse in Charleston, IL and surrounding areas.
INITIATIVES
The first goal for CALL is to get accurate, helpful, and usable information and resources into the hands of everyone wanting to live a life free from binding substances and activities.
SPONSORSHIPS
In addition, we aim to open doors for high-risk youth & families through sponsorships for healthy activities such as sports, music, art, and other life-giving programs.

PARTNERSHIPS
CALL partners with substance-free organizations that strengthen mental, emotional, physical, and relational well-being.
COMMUNITY
Not settling for letting the problem be "bigger than all of us", CALL works to unify our community to be "bigger than the problem"!
HOW YOUR SUPPORT MAKES A DIFFERENCE
OUR VISION
We believe the most powerful way to fight substance misuse is to build communities where people:
1. DISCOVER EFFECTIVE TOOLS
for managing their own mental & physical health.
2. DEVELOP KNOWLEDGE
and confidence to protect themselves from falsehoods & coercion.
3. BECOME CONNECTED
in emotionally healthy & mutually nurturing relationships.

We envision a community that proudly says: "No one wants what you're selling."
REAL PEOPLE. REAL STORIES.

“Emily's laugh was such a burst of happiness and life! We missed it so much when she wasn't well. The way she loved people inspires us to do some hard things so that God's light can shine through her again."
