EMILY'S STROLL & SEARCH THROUGH THE SUNFLOWERS

Held annually each October in Charleston, Illinois, Emily's Stroll & Search Through the Sunflowers is a community fundraising walk and resource fair dedicated to raising awareness about substance misuse prevention.

The event provides information about the impact of substance misuse in our community while connecting attendees with local organizations, prevention initiatives, and support resources that help educate, prevent, and reduce those impacts.

MORE ABOUT THIS EVENT

This event builds a bridge between those with lived experience with substance misuse and those who are living a sober lifestyle as they support their families and friends. We want the community to unify to for a celebration of life, healing, and resilience.

WHAT YOU'LL EXPERIENCE

  • A walking (Stroll & Search) path and park area dotted with information about the local problem as well as the available resources to ameliorate the problem with tools to access the resources

  • A Community Resource & Wellness Fair

  • Family-friendly activities promoting healthy lifestyles

  • Opportunities to connect with organizations that provide positive, healthy, recreational and/or social-emotional and spiritual endeavors that build confidence and can foster potentially positive new friendships and mentoring relationships)
